It was Henry Ford who once said, “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” While he could have been talking about the importance of teams in any number of contexts, the concept is certainly universal and is just as foundational in business settings as it is in church leadership settings.
But what does the process and progression of the “coming together, keeping together and working together” that Henry Ford spoke of actually look like? What are the core principles of building a team then building AS a team? Those are all questions and issues that those in small group leadership must continually wrestle with as ministry cycles through all the ebbs and flows that string seasons together.
In this month’s group talk, Ron Edmondson takes time to tackle the fundamentals of the team concept and how leaders must go first in shaping the culture and setting the tone for their team. An experienced church planter, Ron is currently the Senior Pastor at Immanuel Baptist Church in Lexington, KY. Passionate about planting churches and helping established churches thrive, Ron consults with church and ministry leaders, regularly employing his 30 years of leadership experience both in ministry and the business world.
