If you’ve been on social media lately there is a recruiting trend Small Group point people are going crazy about! It’s a Group in a Box. It’s basically a snazzy box filled with everything you need to launch a small group. It’s an easy entry point for anyone to get started leading a group. Fill out a card. Grab a box. Go start your group.

Conversation starter cards. Print them on business cards with rounded edges for a snazzy look. These are ROGO cards from Sandals Church in Riverside, Ca. ROGO is an abbreviation for being real with ourselves God and others. The language used at Sandals Church is “Grab a box, grab some friends and start a group. Sidenote: From what I’ve found online, Adam Workman is the catalyst for the widespread use of Group in a Box as a recruiting tool.

Small groups who eat together…[you know where this is going].
For leaders with a great sense of humor, some SG point people include toilet paper and Poo-Pourri [spray before you go and know one will ever know!]. One SG point person includes a small roll of TP for an ice breaker game. Everyone takes some TP without knowing what it’s for. The more they take, the more get-to-know-you questions they have to answer. Oh snap. I almost took half the roll.
