Despite the challenges of COVID-19, 2020 was still an incredible year for the Small Group Network! God did so many great things in and through our ministry and team that it would be impossible to list them all. Therefore, please enjoy this annual ministry report featuring our top 10 highlights below (in no particular order).
#1) MOST EVER COUNTRIES REACHED
We connected with, encouraged &/or equipped small group point people in 125 different countries in 2020! We added Algeria, Austria, Brunei Darussalam, Chad, Curaao, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Fiji, Greece, Israel, Korea, Kuwait, Lithuania, Mauritius, Moldova, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Turkey, Qatar & the Virgin Islands to the list of 104 countries we served last year.
#2) NEW ONLINE TRAINING PLATFORM LAUNCHED
With COVID-19 hampering many of our physical training events, we launched a brand new online training course platform featuring high definition videos, downloadable resources and lesson discussion questions that enables small group point people to get the training they need from the comfort of their very own home or office.
#3) GROUP TALK PODCAST EXPANDS TO NEW HEIGHTS
In 2020, our Group Talk Podcast went from one show with one or two episodes posted per month to four unique shows featuring one new episode posted every Wednesday! In the past year we’ve seen 40,627 unique downloads with people listening from 91 different countries around the world. To date we’ve seen over 187,764 all-time podcast downloads. #4) COVID-19 SMALL GROUP RESOURCES SURGE
With COVID-19 hitting North America and much of the world in late February, we hurried to create a special page to feature our 50+ exclusive COVID-19 small group resources in one simple place. There is no way to measure how many views these combined resources received as just one of our videos alone garnered over 130,000 views!
#5) LARGEST LEADERSHIP TEAM YET

#6) LAUNCH OF NEW SPANISH WEBSITE
We created a completely new SGN Spanish website to better serve and support the hundreds of thousands of Spanish speaking small group point around the world! #7) THE EVOLUTION OF COHORT PROGRAM
Our cohort program began to evolve soon after we launched our online training course platform earlier this year.” A Cohort is a learning group organized by one main point person who directs a group of people to follow a schedule and work through a specific course together for about a 6 week period. #9) MORE HUDDLES & C.O.P. THAN EVER BEFORE
This year we have launched more huddles than ever before with a grand total of 289 world wide. Huddles are like small groups for small group point people, a great way to find support & share ideas! Invite 2 or more friends & start a Huddle online or over coffee today. Click HERE. C.O.P. are peer-to-peer learning groups made up of small group point people who have either read Steve Gladen’s book “Planning Small Groups with Purpose” or attended an “Accelerate!” small group workshop. Members of a C.O.P. gather monthly & can meet either virtually or physically for fellowship, to share ideas and for accountability in executing their small group ministry planner taken from the book or the “Accelerate!” workshop!
